Mitchell and Murrindindi Shire Council have partnered with Red Cross and Victorian Council of Churches Emergencies Ministry (VCCEM) to deliver four free training for women sessions in November.
The nationally accredited course, AHCMOM213 Operate and Maintain Chainsaws, will be delivered by a lead trainer with decades of hands-on experience in forestry, fire management and post-disaster recovery.
No experience needed. Saws, helmets, visors, gloves and chaps are provided. The day covers starting and handling a saw safely, chain sharpening and basic maintenance, and cutting up fallen timber.
